Feb ’16 – Mixing, Teaching, Travelling & Shooting.

February is traditionally a fairly quiet month in the music industry so naturally I’ve filled in all my diary gaps with a multitude of fun stuff to keep me busy.

I’m writing this blog post whilst watching the sunrise from the 6am Edinburgh to Carlisle train..  yawn. I’m off to a big house in the middle of nowhere, with Honeyblood for a long, cold, photo shoot. Hopefully I’ll wake up before anyone gets too snap happy!

The new Honeyblood album is currently being mixed so there have been various versions of each tune being bounced around e-mails. Fingers crossed we’ll have a finished product on our hands pretty soon!

I’ve been catching up with drum lessons a bunch this month & I have a fair few new students which is always fun. I still have a couple of slots left so if you’re keen to learn then get in touch!

The last two or three months I’ve been mad into learning new skills. In December (in-between theatre shows) I learned to crochet beards. Yes.. beards. Here’s Roddy Woomble from Idlewild modelling one of my creations on NYE! E-mail me if you want one..

  In January I taught myself how to create this ridiculous website (way harder than first anticipated..) and now in February I’m trying my hand at illustration. It’s all in aid of a new project I’m working on, maybe I’ll post some of my work when I get braver/better!

So yeah, much of the last month has been fairly random with a few days in Dusseldorf thrown in, purely for research purposes, obviously.

Oh & here’s an awesome, badass cat I found on location with Honeyblood;
